Everyone Campaign Shortlisted for Top Industry Award

19th October 2004

Scottish Environment LINK, the umbrella body for Scottish environmental organisations, is delighted that its everyone campaign has been shortlisted for a Pride Award by the Institute of Public Relations Scotland group in Charity or Non-Profit category.  The everyone campaign significantly raised the profile of environmental issues in the run up to the Scottish Parliament elections in 2003. Fred Edwards, President of LINK, said, "This is a very welcome recognition of the success that the everyone campaign had in bringing environmental issues to the fore, in the 2003 elections. By working to mobilise the LINK organisations' joint membership of 500,000, the everyone campaign helped move environmental concerns up the political agenda, and will continue to do so in the run-up to the General Election."

The PRide Awards recognise and reward best practice in public relations and acknowledge personal and team achievement at the highest professional level. The judging procedures are rigorous and test the impact of the practice of public relations on society as a whole. The 2004/2005 PRide Awards drew record entries and established a formidable record of success and achievement in our nations and regions.

Colin Farrington, IPR Director General, said: "These Awards are about raising industry standards and sharing best practice. The quality of entries is once again very impressive, reflecting the vibrancy and innovation of the PR industry. Reaching the final shortlist is a real achievement, and everyone is to be congratulated." The everyone campaign was assisted in the initial planning by the Leith Agency.

The winners will be announced at IPR Scotland group Pride Awards Presentation Dinner at the Balmoral Hotel, Edinburgh on 28th October.
