NEWS UPDATE
The Scottish Executive Planning White Paper was published on 29 June. It does not propose Third Party Rights of Appeal. There are proposals that may actually attempt to reduce third party rights in the planning process. See the immediate reaction from Scottish Environment LINK Planning Task Force. The everyone campaign for TPRA has been running since 2003 – see below.

Act now for equal rights in planning

An ongoing campaign from Scottish Environment LINK Planning Task Force

Planning affects everything we do, including the quality of our environment. Yet in the current land use planning system not everyone has equal rights in the process.

In our planning system, developers have more rights than third parties, such as individuals, communities and other organisations.

Where there is an application for development, everybody has a right to object.

If the application fails – the developer has a right to appeal. If it is approved – the public do not.

If this concerns you – have your say by hitting the ACT NOW! button.
